I am going to start a new thread in my blog. Since people (okay, myself included) have tendencies to give unsolicited advices and opinions some may not even want to listen, I will use this blog to give mine (anyway, it is called Point of View) and will try, try, try, until I succeed, not to dole them out personally instead. If they ever get to read their stories in the thread, they could just click the X icon or give their personal say on the matter pretending it is not them.
Anyway, if you also have an opinion on the matter, feel free to give your honest, but courteously well-mannered and respectful opinion (did I put enough emphasis on politeness?), even if I don’t guarantee that the person/s involved are not fictitious.
And this thread shall be called Dear Ate Dyes a.k.a. D.A.D.
First Entry
Dear Ate Dyes,
I am an OFW. I am married with two (2) kids. My husband decided to quit job a month after I flew to this country. He says he will have his own business, but that was a year ago and he has yet to jumpstart the biz. He only remembers me when it’s payday and doesn’t even try to visit me despite the promos offered by budget airlines; he barely texts or calls me despite my numerous SMS. As a human, I also have my needs. A colleague is dropping lines, and I am afraid I would get hooked eventually. What shall I do?
Yours,
Mrs. O
Dear Mrs. O,
While I could only sympathize with your situation, I admonish you to please remember the vows that you have made. Such vows are not really for your husband, but you have spoken it to the Lord, which means that the Lord is binding you to your oath. Also please do remember your two (2) kids. Argh! It’s really difficult when you have to sacrifice your own needs for your children! But despite the distance, you are still their mother and they still need you to be their role model.
What shall you do? Flee from temptation! Do not face the temptation, but make an about-face and run to the opposite direction. The reason why it’s called temptation is because it represents everything you ever wanted or needed. Surround yourself with friends who have positive vibes and never complain but keeps on pursuing. Do not listen to words which would put your hubby in the bad light or would make you crave for attention.
Keep the faith!
